There were approximately 2802 Ram Indy Official Pace Trucks produced in early 96 at the Warren Michigan plant.  150 of these trucks performed various track duties at the May 26 1996 Indianapolis 500 race All trucks at the race were #'d from 1-150 in 3 locations.

In 1998 all 5.9s increased their stock hp to 245hp/335trq. Prior it was only 230hp except for the Indy Pace trucks and SST which made 245hp since 96. 98 SST was rated for 250hp though no known changes were made.
